Once the police were called, it took them three minutes to respond. In that time, ten people fell prey to his attack...
When every second counts, the police are minutes away.
The security guard is being hailed as a hero who, undoubtedly, prevented the injury and deaths of 'countless' others. One person makes a difference... Regardless of your politics, religious views or your feelings about guns, please have some way to protect yourself and your family.

What is interesting is that there were three security guards, and only one had a weapon.
It was her PERSONAL weapon that was used. She just happened to have it on her at the time. She is not a law enforcement officer.

Actually, from other stories I've been reading, she had been at the earlier mass and stuck around, in plain clothes to volunteer her services.
Not in uniform, not a paid security guard. Sounds like a private citizen saved the day, to me... With a gun. How would the media ever handle that?
