I live and work in Delaware as a web and database developer; I teach; I enjoy playing traditional irish music and I have a moderate interest in politics and 2nd Amendment rights. Oh, yeah... I play World of Warcraft, too. :(
Thank you for posting this well-written description of the bureaucratic nightmare you went through to legally obtain a CCW. And I too pray you never need to draw down on someone.
No problem... what part of the country are you in?
Also, I submitted a podcast for the Gun Rights Advocate podcast (http://gunrights.us/) about the process as well as some of Delaware's laws which should be going up sometime around Christmas.
Nice! Yeah, I've done symphonic/concert percussion, drum & bugle corps and, most recently, traditional Irish music... whistles, DADGAD tuned guitar, octave mandolin and bodhran.
If you have any questions on the permit process, feel free to give me a holler -- also, if you hit http://OpenCarry.org there are forums there for the state of Delaware and several of us are active.

North Wilmington.
Yup, we're neighbors. Found you doing musician research, but we have other common interests. Small world, another triumph for the internet!
